Good-Bye to All That

I know I said that I wasn't going to post about Holiday at Darlington anymore, but . . . as my dear, departed mother would say after taking down the tree on Boxing Day, with a scotch on the rocks in one hand and a Lucky Strike in the other, "Christmas done come and gone!"

  2. Removing the holiday glam is one of my least favorite things ever. My house looks so lonesome! Setting my sights on the next loveliness project...

  3. Everyone loves the holidays so post away! I took my decorations down yesterday (rather than waiting till Wednesday) as I was stuck inside anyway -it was so depressing. I miss them! Now my apartment feels dead and I'm off to buy orchids and other potted plants after work today to liven things up!

  4. Debra -- thanks, she was quite the character...

Dex and AD: We love putting up and enjoying the decorations but once the holidays are over we can't wait to sweep them away and rid the interior of anything Christmas-y. On the other hand, we are happy to leave the wreaths and garlands hanging outside for a few more weeks...

  5. Took down all the Christmas decorations yesterday.... Now what? I already bought the orchids.... I am happy to see you are re-using the branches, but must admit your image looks a little sad!
